Bob Bliss
Caricature Artist - Cartoonist - Illustrator
I’ve LOVED drawing my whole life and fortunately was blessed with some artistic talent! I majored in Fine Arts at the University of Missouri, and after a stint in the Navy as an Illustrator/ Draftsman during the Vietnam War, I worked nine to five as an artist for three years; as a staff artist for a Chicago area newspaper, as the advertising manager, creating all the advertising art and ads for a large drug company, and finally as a cartoon animator for an industrial film company. I quit the nine to five routine and started free-lancing out of my home in 1972! And I’ve been happily doing it ever since! Over the years I’ve done a wide variety of artwork which I LOVE doing, and won numerous awards in various categories! My free-lance work includes caricatures, cartooning, fashion illustration, both serious and humorous editorial and advertising illustration, product line art, editorial cartoons, portraits, comic strips, even some mural work. Over the decades, caricature work has steadily grown to be more than half of my work, both corporate and private, totaling into the tens of thousands! I draw them live at private and corporate parties, but the vast majority of them are drawn from photos people email to me. They are used in advertising and as gifts. Take a look at my various art sample pages here and let me know if I can help you with a caricature or any art projects/needs you may have!
